hi, yesterday we had a funny update from navi 2.65c to 3.01 attain … i searched for some changes and found a new property called FieldCaption in the c/al smybol menu … also their where two new datatypes called in- and outstream … what can i do with them or is their any docu available what else has changed ? our admin had no info

Hello Alex, I found out the following on a course recently attended: Field caption is now displayed in the C/AL symbol menu as it may have different values depending on the Attain language file being used & may differ from the caption. Instream & Outstream are new datatypes and are stream ojects that can be used to read from & write to files & BLOBs. The C/SIDE Reference Guide in the online help explains their use better than I could. I disagree Edward. The online help for Instream/Outstream is as clear as mud and the examples are as useful as a chocolate teapot.
You can always eat a chocolate teapot…[:D] Hmm - I take your point, if I remember back this far, I had just come back from an Advanced Solution Developer course & I had seen an example of how to use it that made sense to me - I will have to see if I still have it…
