NAV ODBC on XP Professional 64 bit

I am configurng a NAV demo system with the legacy data base on a PC with XP professional 64 Bit. I have loaded the ODBC from the install disc and am at version 5.0 SP1.

I have run %systemroot%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe as recommended in the manual.

It installs in seconds and when trying to configure it I get the following message:

The set up routines for Microsoft Dynamics NAV ODBC driver could not be found. Please reinstall the driver.

Tried that a few times but no success.

Any advice most gratefully accepted!!

I know it’s not a new post, but since I had the same problem and found the “answer” then it comes here:

NAV N/ODBC is not supported on 64 bit systems.

Well, it is obvious - what then 32 stands for in odbcad32.exe? [:D]
