NAV 4.0 SP3 Database convertion

Hi,

One of our client using NAV 4.0 SP3 version. They gave us the database backup of production environment, we have restored in SQL but when we try to open in our local environment using NAV 4.0 SP3 its asking us to convert it to latest version. if we convert that database and do some customization in object level. then send that object to client when they import it in their environment whether it will create any problem or any object conflicts occur? Please advise me.

Thanks,

Shyam Kumar N

Check the build of the customer client and use the same build no.

Hi mohana,

If we use different build. Any conflict occurs?

Thanks,

Shyam Kumar N

Moving objects back into a prior build is generally not a problem. We have run NAV 4.0 SP3 - Build 25143 in our in-house development environment for years. Mainly because we needed it to run on Windows 2008 R2. We have had no problems moving objects back into earlier builds. Even been able to support development for customers that actually run 3.70.

A good practice is to recompile the objects after importing into the customer’s database.

Thanks Babrown for confirmation. Have a great weekend.
