how to setup backup schedule for native navision database. also, is there a way we can remove older copies of backup automatically, like we have facility in sql maintenance plans.
No, unfortunately there is no such functionality in the Navision Database Server. You can purchase a 3rd pary product that does this, although I don’t have personal experience with it. It’s called expandit. Search this forum for it and you’ll find a link.
The product is pretty good. I installed it myself and does various things.
Its a good tool for backups, plus a whole lot more.
You can run reports with specific filters, then email it to people.
Run dataports as well.
If the process fails, it can send you an email alter. you can schedule it during different times a day, week, month etc.
