Multiple Outputs from One Prod. Order

Hi All, I have one query, regarding Output of Production Order. This is in the case of a paints industry, 1) From a Production batch multiple outputs (more than 1 finished goods) are produced. 2) Had it been byproducts: The byproducts produced could be posted as negative quantity in consumption journal. 3) But here the Output’s need to be costed differently as per actual quantity (Raw Material) consumed for each of them. a. Output: OP1 2 Qty b. Output: OP2 3 Qty c. Consumption for Source OP1: Raw1 1 Qty d. Consumption for Source OP1: Raw2 2 Qty e. Consumption for Source OP2: Raw1 2 Qty f. Consumption for Source OP2: Raw2 3 Qty g. Consumption for Source OP2: Raw3 2 Qty 4) Cost of OP1 includes Raw1 and Raw2 wrt qty consumed. 5) Cost of OP2 includes Raw1 and Raw2 and Raw3 wrt qty consumed. 1) I tried to post the same scenario by doing some small modifications: a. Inserting Extra Production Order Line in Production Order (for the 2nd Output) manually. b. Making some fields editable in Consumption Journal and Output Journal and allocating Raw material to different Source No. (Outputs) (as shown in 3) above). c. Run the adjust cost batch job. 2) And I got the desired cost of each output. 3) All ledgers seem to be posted fine. My concern is: 1) Will there be any implications (aftereffects) in inventory/costing at later stage? 2) Is there any better solution for the above scenario? Thanx
