Multi Company Operations

Dear All,

I have 3 companies set up in NAV database. What is the best way in the NAV to allocate different cost / expenses among these companies?

  1. How many active companies - 3 or 1

  2. Are you expecting the system to post transactions automatically to other companies based on proportion?

  3. Any inventory related transactions involved in these 3 companies?

First of all thank you very much for your response.I will try to answer your questions in little detail here:

-There are 3 active companies

  1. Are you expecting the system to post transactions automatically to other companies based on proportion?
  • Yes I am expecting to post transactions automatically other companies based on certain allocation rules. Such allocation, for instance, will be for charging staff salary to different companies.
  1. Any inventory related transactions involved in these 3 companies?
  • There wont be any inventory related to issue but definitely Account of one company in other for AR/AP.

Have you looked at inter company functionality?

if we r maintaining 3 company means, we can consolidate that inventory details…
