I have a finished (sales) item setup that is MTO. One of the component items referenced in the BOM is a MTS item. The problem I am having is that when the production order for the MTO item is scheduled and its start and end time are within the same day then the production order for the MTS item is backward scheduled with the exact same ending time as the parent MTO item. I need the MTS order to be completely finished before starting the order for the MTO finished item. If I change the MTS item to MTO then it correctly schedules the production order backward from the scheduled start time of the original MTO item order. The problem with changing the MTS item to MTO is that Navision will not group orders of the same item within a planning period onto one production order for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Doug What version are you running? Have you tried altering the flushing method to forward of the MTS component - I presume it is not? I think you will need to link this to the routing from the BOM via a routing link code, but it should generate the demansd backwards from the point in the routing the component is consumed.
