MS SQL Server 2005 - Transaction Log File is too BIG.

Recovery Model: FULL

  • i already FULL backup of DB and Log.

  • i already shrink the log file, but the log file is still too big.

  • can anyone help me how to resolve this log file its getting the server hdd space.

When you are in Full recovery model, you will need to take a transaction log backup to get rid of active transactions in the transaction log. You should really ask your NAV partner to explain all the details of your database setup, including how the various recovery models work, and how to maintain the database properly.
