Hi Experts,

Currently we are running on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 with Data Director version 2.28.4.

I would like to find out whether is there any possibility to encrypt the password in the System connection string (below screen shot). When I check with my consultants they have no idea on this. It will be a security issue if the password is not encrypted and it needs to use a “Super” access for DD to run the processes.

You can skip adding the user / pwd info into the connection string, and instead assign windows user to the DD Service that has all the needed access to work on the database then DD will use the windows user to log into the database. This works also for the connection string in the Distribution Location card.
