Microsoft Cancel Convergence EMEA 2009

Hi Folks,

Looks like anyone planning to go to convergence in Vienna will be disappointed. Here is the official announcement text:

Change of Strategy for Convergence EMEA

After careful consideration, we have decided to change our approach to Convergence in EMEA. We will replace Convergence Vienna with local events in select EMEA markets during the October/November timeframe and content, resources and information will also be made available online. Details on locations and timing will be shared as soon as they are available. This change is based on customer and partner feedback and their high level of interest in access to content that is relevant to their markets and is easily accessible. Convergence 2010 Atlanta is confirmed for April 25-28 2010.

Oh, I’m very sad to hear that! Not that Convergence EMEA has ever been anything near the Convergence US conference, but Convergence has always been a great networking event. And I had actually been looking forward to Convergence this time as it for the first time would not be in my own hometown Copenhagen, but in Vienna!
