Microsoft and Navision: Is that good or bad? How will it effect us? http://europe.cnn.com/2002/BUSINESS/04/30/navision.microsoft/index.html regards Omair NGP NCSD
I think it’s too soon to tell. Having gone through the Solomon → Great Plains → Microsoft transaction as a Solomon reseller, I think it all depends on whether or not MS rolls Navision into the Microsoft Great Plains Business Solutions unit or not. If they do, you can be assured of change. Good or bad? Probably both, depending on your role with the product. Great Plains and Solomon can both learn a lot from Navision, especially in the areas of certification requirements and quality control.
Confirmed!!! Navision has been bought by Microsoft! regards Omair NGP NCSD
Omair, how do you know? Please name your source! I will get an “Important Strategic Announcement” by 5:30pm Spore time, not earlier. Regards Walter

I don’t think so…Check this out ! http://www.cnn.com/2002/BUSINESS/05/07/microsoft.navision/index.html
It is true enough. As the board of directors in Navision has recommended a sale to Microsoft, AND that board of directors represent around 60% of the shares in Navision AND same board of directors intend to sell their shares to Microsoft the deal is effectively a reality. Well, Navision Singapore has confirmed that Microsoft acquired Navision as at 7 May 2002. Good or bad? Too soon to tell. Nevertheless, .NET is definitely the way and looks like technical people got to be prepared.
