One of my customers recently upgraded from 3.10 to 3.70A. Most of the items have serial numbers and one of the major changes between those 2 versions is that in 3.70 there is 1 item ledger entry pr. action (basically Document No.) pr. Serial No. A typical item is received, transferred (a couple of times) and sold. This change is causing the system to be very slow when posting documents and the adjust cost batch job takes forever. Please advise. Gylfi
Navision figured out that what they did in 3.10 would not work, so they changed it back for 3.70 (actually 3.60). Obviously, it will be slower (I have not seen very slow), but at least it’s correct [;)] In general, the batch job takes forever if you have not run it frequently. This may not be serial numbers, but more a Value Entry issue? Once you get over that initial run, it should complete in a reasonable amount of time.
We had a customer recently that was serializing some of the items in inventory. A single 10 line order for quantities of 500 units per line generates 5000 item ledger entries and all the associated value entires, item application entries, etc. Needless to say posting was very slow.
Thanks very much. This just confirmed what we are experiencing. Gylfi
Hi, We are also facing the same problem. Tracking was never stable or effecient in Navision, Hope this will be good enough in 4.00. Thanks and regards
