Managed Interop Proxies in .NET 4.0

We are using .NET 4 and are trying to add the Visual Studio project “to the AOT” and include the ManagedInterop DLL for Proxies in AX.

We have read that you cannot use them with this version of .NET but wanted to see if anyone else has found a way to get this to work?

Also, when referencing this assembly (the .DLL), does it need to be installed on the client machine? What if they don’t have AX on their machine but need to input new data into the system via our application?
