License and object access

We have created a set of new objects (table, forms etc) in our allocated dealer range which we would like to include as standard for future customers. Is there anyway that we can issue a modified license which allows the client access to the objects but does not allow them design rights?

I don’t know if execute only (----X) rights will do the job. It’s possible that to use an object user will need rights to read this object too (R—X).

Hi, Unless you have your product authorized as an add-on, there is no possibility to do what you want. The principle in user rights is that you can only limit the permissions given in the license file, and if the customer has access to your objects in the license file + access to design, then the customer can modify the objects. /Lars

I disagree! If the end user has suitable skills in house, sell the Designers but only with a suitable amount of Training, make sure that the user knows that version control is critical for support purposes. That way will cut down the number of hours support analysis spend just moving a box on a Report or Form.
