Hi there: I am trying to publish a designed report in Excel using Jet Report to users with viewer rights and when I set in the cell A1 (column 1 and row 1) command AUTO + HIDE + LOCK, the system show me a message error that the command cannot be written in the excel file because the user don’t belong to designer group, but I don’t want include to user in this group. Basically, I just want to write the command programmatically when the user open the report, then he will be able to refresh the data in any moment. Somebody knows how I can do it.
Don’t publish the report. Save the report (in design mode or when updated). The User with viewer rights then only have to open and update by using Jet - Report from the menue.
A Designer must enter Auto+Hide+Lock in Cell A1 before publishing your report to Viewers. The Viewers cannot enter any information on Sheets containing this “formula” in Cell A1. A reason that you as a Designer cannot enter this formula is that you may have “Simulate Viewer mode” activated in your Jet Options. When you deactivate this option the Designer will have the rights again. Does this help?
And here’s a P.S. about a Viewer being able to refresh a Report: he only needs to choose Jet, Report in the menu.
