Inventory valuation wrong - please help

Hi folks,

I am working On nav 4.0 sp3.

I am facing some problems regarding Inventory Valuation.

When I run the inventory valuation report for the month 01/01/2009 …01/31/2009.

It shows all negative values for that FG.

Like this for every month I am getting the wrong values that means negative values up to MAY -2009.

Key users posted the transactions with wrong postingdate.(by mistake I had give the allow posting 01/01/2009 …. 31/12/2009.

I found that mistake is Out put happened one date , but they transferred that material before that out put date.

Example is : 02/11/2009 Out put journal posted for FG. Lot number is ABC 001

But they transferd that lot to another location on 01/05/2009.

So like this they posted wrong posted date .

So how to correct this one .

Please help me .

experts, throw some more information on this…

Well you inventory valuation for the month will obviously be screwed. You cannot value in the month when nothing falls in the month.

If you want to correct it you will need to reverse the output and reapply the output, this will get the in and out in the correct period.

Basically analyse the data, and do lots of corrections, and restrict your posting to months.

let me know how to stop to post the transaction to previous month.

that means IN General ledger setup Date ran ge

01/01/09 … 0210109.(MM/DD/YYYT)

I ccreated a new item . and purchased on 01/15/09)

But that key user create a transfer order on 01/10/09 (by mistakehe entred the date ) he select that item and post it.(system automatically post that one)

so when i run the inventory valuation on 01/10/09 for that item , my inventory valuation goes wrong .

so how to prevent that one sir.

Please help me .

You cannot change the dates, you need to post positive/negtive/negative/positive transactions with the appropriate dates to balance out or reverse the original transactions. The value entries you can reverse with revaluation journals, manually adding these to the lines and defining the posting date. Depends if you want to go to all this trouble, the way you are running the report restricts you, to date you are correct.

Look at the users, these have posting dates and as these are more details take precedence over the general ledger setup. However your date states 02/101/09? I presume you typed this incorrectly, but lets face it if you typed 02/10/09 then of course 01/10/09 would work.
