Interview Questions

Hi,

I am working on Navision(4.0, 5.0) since 2006. My role in my company is Functional cum Technical Consultant. This is my first job and i want to change my job. Can anyone send me list of question for interview.

Thanks,

Himanshu Kumar

What do you mean by “list of question for interview”?

What do you want to change it into? Say you want to join the circus. You’re going to need an entirely different skillset if you wanna be a juggler, or a clown, or a lion tamer. Without knowing what you want to do it’s difficult to help you with any useful advice.

Dear DenSter,

I am really very sorry. My designation in my company is Functional Cum Technical Consultant. I have working on Navision (4.0, 5.0) since 2006 Aug.

Thanks,

Himanshu Kumar

Which type of JOB are you seeking My dear ?

Yes you said what your current job is before. You also said that you want to change your job. If you don’t tell us what you want your job to be, we can’t give you any meaningful advice.

I guess you are planning to do the same job at another company. First of all, you need to update your resume. List your relevant experience, your certifications, short descriptions of your responsibilities. For the actual interview I don’t know if that works the same where you live as it does here. There are no official guidelines about this, most of it is a Human Resources person taking care of general things, and someone you will work with/for that asks some questions about your experience, to make sure you are representing yourself properly.

Just be prepared to ask questions about your job. Try to find out some information about the company you are applying. They might ask you “why do you want to work for this company?” and you will need to have a good answer. Then just as important as answering questions, you also nee to ask them some good questions. Ask about career opportunities, what their training program is like, how you will work, will you have a senior to help you with, stuff like that.

The most important thing is that you are professional, but be yourself. Don’t try to present yourself as someone you are not, you will fail miserably.

Good luck with your job hunt [Y]

Yup, that’s a classic…

And my personal “favorite”:
“What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?”

What do you answer to that one?
No one is without weaknesses, so i’d better come up with something…
Hmmm… wich weaknesses are not so bad that they could cost you the employment?

Himanshu:
I don’t think you should worry too much about what they are going to ask…
As Daniel already said… Just be yourself, and don’t try to be the person you THINK they want you to be.
You have a couple of years experience, so i would think that the technical part of the interview shouldn’t be the problem here.
My advice to you is to just apply for the jobs you find interesting. If you are called to an interview, take it.
And be prepared to be turned down for various reasons, but each and every interview you take, makes you better “dressed” for the next interview.
Finally: NEVER loose faith in yourself. That shines right through in the interview.

Good luck. [Y]

Oh also important… don’t make any salary demands until they are ready to start talking about that. First they will determine whether you are the right person for the job, and then when they decide that you are, will they start talking about compensation, benefits, and thigns like that.

Perhaps you should consider a new job like finding a friend or partner…

There may be a number of job offers and interviews before you find the job that is good for you.

But to find that job you should decide what you want and then the questions you have for the interview.

What are you looking for and does the current or a new company offer that?

Good Luck [:)]
