What tool are you using? What is your issue? It is not clear I am afraid. What lines form where?

Import Bill of Materials

Background:

We have several items at Company that are kits. We need to have a tool that imports a Bill of Material into AX that is approved and activated. The BOM would identify the items that make up the finished good (kit) along with their quantity and unit type.

Requirements:

  1. BOM name: The BOM name should be the item number of the finished good followed by the word KIT. For example of the item number for the kit is 4.08198, the BOM name would be 4.08198 KIT.

  2. We should be able to modify existing kits (BOMs) as well as create new ones

  3. We will define what parts, qty. make up a kit

  4. BOMs may only be created for parts already existing in the AX database

Then you need a developer to write a script and to interface this to your requirements.
