WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE TO IMPORT EXCEL DATA INTO AX2009 BOM DATA.
REGARDS
Menu Administration\Periodic\Data export/import, Definition group. Create a new definition group with Type=Excel
Press the Table setup button at the right, you need to have only tables BOM, BOMTable and BOMVersion, you can delete the rest of the tables.
I strongly recommend you to create a BOM manually first if you don’t have one already created, because that record will be useful for you as an example of what needs to be populated in the spreadsheet.
Then with the button below, Export to, you will export the BOM’s that you already have in the system (the one of the example I mentioned at least). Check Override files names… and Select in the path field, the place and the name of the file you want to create. This step will create an excel file with some sheets (#DEF, #Lookup, BOM_1-1, BOMTable_1-1, BOMVersion_1-1), the sheets you need to populate with information are:
BOMTable: Is the code assigned to each bom you will create with its name, item group, etc
BOMVersion: Is where you place the item you want to make with that bom (it needs to belong to the item group placed in the bom sheet)
BOM: Here you place the components.
There are many considerations to have in mind, of course the components needs to exist as items, the item placed in the BOMVersion has to be created as BOM item in the item master, the unit of measure in the BOM sheet needs to be the same that was placed in the item master for that component.
Once you have entered the data of the new boms in the spreadsheet, you can upload it with the button Import. Select in the File name, the Excel file you saved with the new data and press Ok.
