Import Error

I am going over the course material for NAV 2013. The course material came with some solution .fob files. However, when I try to import them I get the following error message.

"This .fob file is an older version which does not work with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Development Environment. Use the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 Development Environment to import it into a Microsoft NAV 2013 database and then export the upgraded application objects to a new .fob file. "

Any idea how to bypass this message.

I am currently running NAV 2013 R2 on Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).

Nitin,

The message clearly says that you are importing the older version object on higher version.

You need to import those object in appropriate version for upgrade and then import it into NAV 2013 R2 version.

I did see that, but I don’t have NAV 2013 r1 installed on my pc. I only installed R2, so I was looking for/trying to find a different way of getting the .fob files updated or another way around the error message.

You have to have NAV 2013 for importing these object

I do have nav 2013 r2 running on my computer. So I am guessing I need to install nav 2013 r1 to be able to import these objects.

Yes Sure…

Thanks for your help. I will give it a shot after work today. If it worked I will post a reply so that next time someone has the same problem they know what to do.

Share the solution if you got it…

Installed 2013 and was able to import the object. After import, I exported the object and imported it again in 2013 r2, I was able to get past the error message.

Thanks Amol. [:)]
