How to Transform a Form, into a Page or Classic Report into a RTC Report ??

Today I’m trying to Transform a Form into a Page.

And I came to that; I have to import a fob file from the Dynamics Installing DVD, that is from %rootDrive%/Transformation Tool/TIF Editor/TIF.fob.

After importing that object that created a From, ID : 1700000 (I guess). Name : Transformation Form.

And After Then I’m LOST…

Please Assist further…

Which form you want to Transform?

Is it a new object created in range 50000-99999?

Yes. Its a new one; a dummy.

What if I want to Transform MBS Form ??

If it is already existing one and you have modified then you can directly export to Transformation tool folder and run the EXE.

As it is anew form, you have to add it in Transform Pages.xml

And the steps you have given are very clear.

After running Form 177000

Click Import → “Import PageType - FormType mapping”, and select the file TransformationTool\TIF Editor\FormToPagetypeMapping.txt.

Import 5 xml files from Setup

using getforms, import your new form and set the form type and page type

Export all 5 xml files to transformation tool folder .

Let me clear my points…

Setup and use the Transformation tool:

  1. Run form 177000 “Transformation Forms”

  2. Click Import → “Import PageType - FormType mapping”, and select the file TransformationTool\TIF Editor\FormToPagetypeMapping.txt.

  3. Click Functions → Get Forms. Filter on Type = Form, and ID = the new form, then click OK. This gets the form(s) that you want to transform.

  4. In the FormType field, select “Card” (“Form with TabControl only and a source table”).

I got stuck in step 4. I can’t find the Import button, or The File > Import Menu is also not available…

I tried to import the "txt " file; while the Form was closed but in object designer

Did I missed any step or anything else to do ??

It’s a bit difficult to help as it’s not clear to me why you are stuck. What steps did you exactly already perform?
