HOW TO TAKE DATE FROM THE CUSTTABLE DATA

hai all ,

i have to export cust table data and vendor table data into excel files please tell me

create a report first and then export into excel

hi,

goto Administration >> Periodic >> Data Export/Import >> Definition Groups

Create one definition group and Click “Table SetUp” button

all the tables will be displayed in the Grid. Do “Ctrl+A” and delete all the records.

then create two records in grid one for CustTable and VendTable.

Save the definition group and come out of that screen.

then

goto Administration >> Periodic >> Data Export/Import >> Export

  • Select your definition group and give file name and file type as “Comma”.

  • click ok

your CSV file will be generated.

Hey Ramya,

When I tried to do this process the file saves in dat or in def format even when I tried to save .xls it saves in dat and def formats. Please let me know how to get it in excel sheet…

Thanks,

Rk

You can always do it this way (not best practice but easiest).

Go to the CustTable browser, use CTRL + A to select all rows, then open new sheet and CTRL + V.

The same for the other tables. This is really not good practice - especially when tables got too many records. This way is also available through Forms, where you can query data.

There are other ways to do it:

1)Standard export,

2)By some custom code (Reports / classes / jobs) where easiest way to do it is by CSV. This format is supported by excel so you can switch format afterwards.
