how AX calculates the quantities needed in the future.

What is the period taken into account by AX 2012 in the planning? I speak of the historical data quite sour.

I saw that coverage amount of items is calculated in days.

Purchase Lead time is edited by the user / in days.

But I do not know how AX calculates the quantities needed in the future.

Hi, I don’t know f I understand you well.

Related with master planning, a coverage type of ‘Period’ requires a coverage amount in days as you say. So if you put there 60 days, AX will look 60 days in the future, and will sum up all the quantities that are required there, then based on the purchasing lead time (suppose it is 15 days), master planning will tell you to buy 15 days (purchasing lead time) before the 60 days period (coverage group) start, the quantity needed to satisfy those requirements considering stock on-hand plus any other pending receptions.

I’ts all what I need to know, cause I haven’t data to test AX calculates methodes.
