Is there any need to define “Inventory adjustment A/c” and 'Direct cost applied" a/c for work centres of WIP. I m in confusion as to why these two account needs to be defined especially inventory adjustment??

The general posting setup is used everywhere, you do not need to full in any accounts that are not used in the instance of the combination. To be honest I cannot remember if these accounts are hit when the work centre is a subcontractor, I do not believe so. The simplest test is to set it up without the accounts and process it through.
