Has anyone developed a simpler usage based procurement solution probably based on one of the off-the-shelf forecasting engines available? The idea is that sales order lines are fed to the engine and the results set reorder points and safety stock for the requisition function. Thanks for your anticipated help.
Navision’s UBP package is based on a very simple system which DOES use Sales Lines to calculate reorder points and safety stock. The system you are suggesting removes the humans from the loop and therefore cannot deal with unusual usage.
