Financial Management Exam

HI Ali Not sure how Austrian a yodelling bear is - wait for the abuse to come from the Austrian contingent I suppose - How about making them buy Viennese Whirls all round, a nice treat for everyone in the office and it makes a point!

Hi Steven [8D] Can you tell me where can I find an overview of the exams: AU 00-002 Navision Attain Essentials AU-01-010 Navision Financial Management Thanks TAN

Hi Tan Are you being ironic? AU is the Austrian exam! Anyway I am unsure on the rest of the world but your NTR should have a localised web site that will provide this informaiton either in the old Navision format or the new Microsoft format. Failing that your NTR should be able to email you with this informaiton.

Hi, Few questions about the new policy for the certification for UK All UK Navision Solution Centres must have Certification Quantity Prerequisite ============= ======== ============ MS SQL Server 1 None Essentials 3 None Financial Management 3 Essentials or NCR Programming 1 Essential I am NCR and working on the technical side. do we need to clear both the exam (Financial & Programming) if I clear only the Programming test ?? If i clear only the Financial one ?? for SQL Server , there are four exams Course Course Code Exam Code Administering SQL 2000 MS2072 70-228 Programming SQL 2000 MS2073 70-229 Administration SQL 7 MS832 70-028 Implementing SQL 7 MS833 70-029 which one we have to clear (MS2072 or MS2072) ??

Hi Ajay My understanding is that the certificaitons affect the NSC - and a reduction from the 5 NCR’s has occurred to bring Navision more in line withe Great Plains. You need one SQL representative, 1 programming exam pass, 3 Finaincial Mamagement exam passes. Having a current NCR pass means you can fast track pass the Essentials exam and sit the Financial Management exam. One person could have SQL, programming and a Financial pass. This means 2 other people would have to pass the Financial Exam. If you are an NCR you have until November to pass the exam, otherwise you have to pass Essentials to sit Financial Management. You can have ANY one of the SQL exams to be SQL accredited. Is that all your questions answered or have I confused you more? The partnersource site holds all of this information on accreditation as well, although you may have to clarify some of it as I did!

Dear Steven thx for the prompt reply, I know I have to clear by November and I can skip Essential if I clear on time. The point is if I am on the Technical side, why should i clear the Financial One I can go only for Programming. One more thing NSC have to have all these by 30th November 2003 but we can clear by 25th April 2004

Sorry Steven, I know I’ve already asked this elsewhere but I’m still not clear - is this exam a prerequisite to owning a full dev license the same way as the NCR was before. What I mean is, do I need to passs this completely financial-themed exam to let MBS know that I’m a competent developer, or lose my dev license when it expires?

Hi Ajay Simply - you do not have to do the Financials one! The November date referes to the NSC - you have to have everything by then to sell Navision. The April 2004 date is where the NCR exam covers you for hte Financials exam - after this the NCR is worthless and you have to sit the Essentials exam to sit the FInancials Exam. Hi Kristian I do not know at this point, the developer licenses will presumably be issued to exists NCR’s who pass the programming exam? Or has a certified NSC? In the near future I presume new staff will have to sit the developers course and then pass the developers/programming exam. This may form part of the Advanced modules they are releasing soon, especially as far as I can see the programming exam covers the base and advanced design courses of old, and not the advanced solution developer course.

Steven, Am I correct in assuming that existing NCRs are exempt from the Essentials exam if they pass the Financial Management exam or are we required to pass both? Regards, Chris.

Hi Chris Existing NCR’s are exempt from the Essentials exam as long as they pass the Financial Management Exam prior to November 2003. If you have not passed this exam before then, then you have to pass the Essentials exam to sit the Financials exam. So being an NCR has a time limit for exemption - use it wisely!

Hi, Just read all your interesting replies. Having passed both the “Essential” and the “Financial Management” Examinations. I wonder if I need to take the “Overview” examination as well in order to be Navision certified ? Another clarification is with regard to the personal “License”… Will I be eligible for any license after passing the above tests…? or is it a prerequisite to pass the “Developors” test to get a licence in my name. Cheers,

Hi Rohith My understanding as it stands in the UK is that no Overview exam exists, just the Essentials, Financials and Programming exams. As for the developers license I would guess, and it is a guess, you will not be able to get the developers license without passing the developers course and/or (?) the developers exam. I further believe this will be different from the programming exam (this only covers basic and advanced “design” not actual development). If you have passed the Essentials and Finincials I believe you should be eligable for you own license. However the messages we are receiving from Microsoft are a little mixed and confused at the moment, so perhaps it will all become clear in the next 6 months [:D].
