I am having some problems with this fin.htm file under certain conditions. Can anyone tell me the purpose of this file? When we run Citrix Thinstar Clients that use a Linux operating system, the user gets the message that the file already exists and are unable to login to Navision. The connection terminates directly after the message. Thanks in Advance.
Hi The fin.htm is the main helpfile from Navision. It seems your system tries to load this file twice. bye André
This problem is normally Daylight Saving Time related. I believe Navision stores the modification dates of the on-line help files in fin.hmt, and tries to refresh this information when time settings change. Let all Citrix users logoff, then logon again and the problem should be solved.
Thanks, I already tried that. Still get the message. (and the file is fin.hmt-I gave the wrong extension in my original post.)
Got it, this was merely a mapping conflict between the 2 servers in our Citrix farm!
We had the same problem with our Serverfarm. The reason was that we accepted the client-time-settings (time zone / daylight saving), so every client with a different setting as the first client tried to compile the fin.hmt causing an error (file is open while users are logged on). We switched to server-time in our farm and it works fine.
We had the same problem on our Citrix farm, despite having the time settings set to be ruled by the servers, not the clients. Our solution proved to be running the Navision client on the server itself and starting Navision as a regular user. The program then automatically creates a new index. This procedure had to be repeated for all databases and all languages active.
I would really appreciate if you or someone else could descrip the solution in more details. I have the same problem and I am pretty stocked Thanks in Advance
