Has anyone experienced a filter getting stuck? We sometimes have users that have a filter stuck permanently, say for purchase orders, so that you cannot look up a purchase order without first releasing all filters. In this case you also cannot toggle over from the sales order because the filter is stuck on the one order. Any suggestions?
Hi Al I have experienced stuck filters, in 2.6, filtering on dates on sales invoices, and when logging back in the filter was applied, but I could not remove it.The only way they seem to be cleared is by deleting the zup file and losng all of your settings - sorry. [:(]
click on the table filter to see what is being filtered. Maybe it’s the customer number or order number. whatever the field is click on that field on the card (sounds like sales header from your note) then click the SHOW ALL filter. We have had a problem like this where an order entry person filtered on a customers name then clicked the LIST. while in the list they clicked the SHOW ALL filter there (thinking what they did was now undone). When closing the list they wondered why they were still stuck on that order. Seems you have to un-filter on the original field you filtered on (in this case the name on the header)… hmmm did that make sence?
Hi HR, I think you are misunderstanding your filtering problem, but correct me if I’m wrong. Suppose you are on a Card Form (Order Card in your example) and no filters are applied. Now you go to the List Form, set some filters to help you find a specific Order and then click OK to get back to the Order Card showing the record you just selected. If, at this point, you access the Table Filter window, there will be no filters set (even though you used them on the List). The opposite is also true. If you set a filter on the Order Card and go to the List, the filter will be copied to this window (because it is the Lookup Form). But a change of filters - or removal, on your situation - in this List will not get carried back to the Order Card when you click OK. The original filters will remain in action. This is related to the way Navision handles the default Lookup windows. I hope I cleared things up a bit and not made a bigger mess… [:D]

There is another way actually: compile the form; then all filters (and setups) for that particular form is removed.
Thanks Anfinnur And there is my something new learned today ticked off [:D]
I’ve made a little dirty piece of code that, at runtime - in effect - does just that (completely zaps all filters and settings on an object).
Thank you for all your responses but the problem persists. Just to clarify, this is not a misunderstanding about how filters work. When the problem occurs, you cannot clear the filter permanently. You can clear all and the next time you open the form the filter is on again. (in this case on the order# field) You can clear all, exit the form, and come back in and the filter is back. I thinks Steven Weaver is right and I have fixed it by deleting the zup file, but I don’t want to do this if avoidable. It is a pain to lose your settings. Any one else??

only today i had this happen! i normally dl the zup file, but i was on an xp machine and could i find the zup? could i zup!!! each time i searched my machine hung. luckily we have dummy companies in our database (for testing) so i went into one of these, and created the order number again (help from setting the number sequence to manual) and i was able to remove the filter in the test company. back to the live company and all was sorted! that prevented the columns from being reset which was good, but i still havent found my zup file! anyone know where its located? (far easier going to windows/app data and finding it there!)
On Windows 2000/XP machines the ZUP file is (by default) located in: C:\Documents and Settings%User Name%\Application Data If you can’t find it there, inspect the properties of the shortcut you use to run Navision and check the path indicated through the parameter ID.
