Fiixed Assets NAV 2009 R2

Dear all,

I am a junior (inexperienced ) NAV consultant and i have just came across with a client question that am straggling.

Below my questions on FA for NAV 2009 R2

  1. If I have an asset with a book value of X $ , how to make this X$ to 0? What’s the journal that must be done and which FA posting accounts are involved? And how can i sell this FA? which FA Posting accounts are involved?

  2. If I buy a FA from a foreign vendor, how to apply charges on that FA? (Customs, transportation…etc?)

Please advise.

Many thanks in advance,

Nikolas

Hi Nikolas,

There are 2 ways to make your fixed asset from X$ to 0. You can create a sales order to sell your fixed asset or if you create a fixed asset depreciation each year, eventually you will get 0 book value for your fixed asset.

In this situation I assume you want to sell it. so you just create a sales order and pick which fixed asset you want to sell. FA posting account that involved on the journal is based on what FA Posting group that you use in FA Card.

About the second question, in my opinion you can apply those charges into FA Book value by creating a purchase invoice and pick a FA that you want to apply charges. CMIIW
