Hai all, We are in the process of developing some New Objects to our UK client. What are the factors to be considered to export the Objects to their database(Great Britan Database) file if I develop them on Indian Localised Database Version 3.6 ?? How licence file controls the export and import of the new or modified objects ? I do know the complications of taxes of different localised versions. But my question is to emphasize on the New Objects which doesn’t have any localised Complications. Rajasekhar
Why dont you get a copy of the database from the client and also his license. The complication still lies in the fact that the developer license you hold will prevent you from accessing the UK specific objects. Developing in IN database and importing UK database is a dangerous experiment.
Dear Venu Gopal, If my client doesn’t have developer licence, what should i do ? How can u say that developing in IN data base and importing them to UK database is dangerous experiment ? Have done this earlier or are you assuming the same ?? Come with ur actual stance of ur statement. Rajasekhar
Let me explain. Imagine you made customisation in say item table( 27). added some fields and then imported them into UK database. The all the fields in number series 10000…12000( usually the range in which the UK objects are will be replaced). Imagine the damage this can do. I hope you customer is aware of the approach you are taking.
Hi Get a W1 version of 3.60 do whatever modifcation you want with your indian license. But before deploying it to your customer, make sure the number series you have used is in the customer user license, other wise he will not be able to use the modified object. At least you must have access to the user license of your customer to test the new development , Never deploy anything without testing it on user license. Regards Hari
Hai all, Assume that I have all the licences of exporting and importing objects, and even there is no conflicting of Object Ids and fieldno.s then can i deploy some tested W1 Version Objects in GB Version??? Rajasekhar
I am afraid No! That still does account for forms. Lets say item card. In india version you have fields like excise prod posting group, excise business posting group. Now if you worked in worldwide and import the item card into IN database you would lose all these fields on the card. You see the point?
