Export Vendor Table

Version: Nav 5.0 / SQL Server 2008

I am new to the system (replaced the existing ERP person).

I would like to export the vendor information (name, address, email, etc etc), and I do not know how to do this. I was told to use the dataport function located in the Object Designer menu. I was able to locate the table ( I believe it is table 23).

Does anyone know where I can get documentation or an instruction manual on how to do this. I will most likely want to do this with the Customer table and Item Master Table.

As I understand, you work for the customer.

You have 2 options:

  1. CustomerSource website https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/ - but that is in case you are on active Maintenance Plan.

  2. On installation CD in /Docs directory is a bunch of .PDFs with clumsy names - Application Designer’s Guide has a chapter about DataPorts.

But:

Get there, check, if your license allows to create a new dataport - (hint - Object number must be in range 50000-50099).
In case message pops up saying your license permits this action, you would not be able to solve problem yourself, although it is rather simple & straighforward task, if you need EXPORT.

Besides, I would highly recomend not to try IMPORTING something, while your knowledge of Navision is not good enough.
