Dear All,
I am facing the problem when opening database navision (not in SQL server) after changes database login ID/Name from super to another for example alamak. I made change thoroughly. The change is role ID of the first database login name now owned by alamak as a new database login name, alamak now has role nake “this role has all permissions
After that, I open the database and entry the database login name, the database can’t open. There is an error message says MBS-Navision has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience”.
error report contain:
AppName: fin.exe
ModName: fin.exe
fDebug: 0 Offset: 001cd940
AppVer: 4.0.1.21666
etc…etc…
Could you pls let me know the solution for that problem…? I expect so much your answer.tku
Rgds,
Mark
Mark, I am not sure what you actually did, did you in fact RENAME SUPER to ALAMAK? If so I am not sure of the results. I did do this once in an old version of Navision, just to see what it would do, but I don’t think I ever was able to access the Database Again.
From what I remember, the hash coding on the pasword key no longer vlaidates, and the super is thus no longer working.
I think you may have to restore from a backup. I am assuming this was a test database.
PS Mark, I don’t normally comment on English Language, since mine is not the best by any means, but a small thing. In most of your posts you use the word “Expect” when what you really mean is “Appreciate” the words are very different, so it would be much nicer if you ended your questions with “I Appreciate so much your answer” not “expect your answer”. [;)]
I did delete super to be alamak and the other I create to database login name but the roles are set to same on both. I see the second is not work. your answer is right.
Rgds,
Mark
P.S.
Expect here in our local means awaiting and hoping. Appreciate means like respect, that’s why I write expect.
I guessed that. Since in Czech it is very similar, in that the words for wait and expect are the same, so over the years I am used to it… Anyway in English, the polite words would be Hope or Appreciate.
