Embedded CRM attachments slow down native DB?

I have two questions regarding storing attachments in a native database: 1. It is possible to store interaction attachments to a disk file or embed it in the database. What’s the best option for performance reasons? 2. We have currently 2000 interactions with attachments embedded in our database. We expect that it will grow with 10.000 interactions per year. Each interaction is about 120 kb and contains a Tiff file. Will those attachments slow down our database? I am wondering if we better could embed those attachments or store it to disk files.

Attachments will increase your database size therefore degrade performace. If you decide to save your files to a disk don’t forget to backup them.
