Editing/Deleting of Posted General Journals

HI I have to allow Modification /Deletion of Posted General Journals. How should i go about it? I have to do it ? Though i know it should not be done but it is something which needs to be done. Thanx Rajan

Before anything else I should warn about what you seem to already know. If something is posted by mistake, you should post reversing or corrective entries. It should not be deleted or modified. However, if you really need to empower someone with the capability to delete/modify posted entries/documents, I think you have 2 ways (someone please comment about this):

  • Use a special license (normal customer licenses don’t allow this) and a super-user to modify/delete posted records
  • Develop a Form/Report with permissions for the required tables and assign indirect permissions to the necessary user(s)

I think that deleting is a bad solution here. I think the programming of an “auto-Storno”-function makes more sense. I know that sometime there is the wish by boss to delete something, because noone should see the error [:D] or the fiskal shouldn’t see[:I] but that should be known BEFORE posting ! Modifying is never a solution !
