Dynamics NAV 2013 - Interaction Between Contact and Customer Cards

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to my question-

I know that in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 when you link a Contact card with a Customer/Vendor/Bank Account card the information on the cards changes automatically when you alter its counterpart. Is there a way to disable this function while still maintaining the link between the cards? People in various departments have access to one card or another, but what if for instance you want someone in Marketing to be able to update a contact without impacting its related Customer card?

You would need to change this behavior on code level, there is no setting to disable it.
