DoS attack on Navision Financials

I never thought of this being an issue with Navision, but it seems like there have been some guys that found a way to shut down the Navision Financials server with a Denial of Service attack. You can read more at this url: http://neworder.box.sk/showme.php3?id=4365 I know Navision Denmark has released Hotfix1 for Navision Financials 2.60.D to fix this. Any comments for the other countries? Soren Nielsen, moderator Integration/Developer NOLUG

Hi I just want to know this loop hole is exists in the previous versions of Navisions like 2.01 Etc ? Or is this Exists for all versions which are using TCP protocol ? Regards

I do not know if this security hole applies to version 2.01 - in the document it is saying versions 2.50 and 2.60. Soren Nielsen, moderator Integration/Developer NOLUG

How many people out there have there navision server conected directly to the internet. If you do I think you are asking for trouble. Any way the most they can do is crash the server process, its just as easy to crash the NT box any way. I don’t think this is a real problem. Paul Baxter

Well, it has been a issue big enough for Navision to work on it. But still i think you are right Paul, you should not have your Navision connected to external adresses. Instead use a terminal server. Soren Nielsen, moderator Integration/Developer NOLUG
