Does anyone know if 2009 can sit on any new server environments?

We have an old DB, which cannot be upgraded, but we need to store the data

Any ideas please

It depends. Assuming it’s using SQL server database and not native db, then you could use a newer SQL server, even if it’s not officially supported.
As for the Windows server for running the server instance then I would expect Windows 2016 to be fine. Not sure about Windows server 2017.

Many thanks Erik. Its a DB with an Oil Field Services addon included, which is why it is probably not possible to upgrade.

I think it may be upgraded, but the issue - you need to have a resource with developer skills and time to do upgrade and code transtormation
