Dimension Doubt

Hi,

Is it possible to create temporary table for dimension table(InventDim) Table. I created a temporary name InventDimTemp and when i assign value in form using code i am not able to do it.

My code is inventdimtemp.inventcolorid = inventdim.inventcolorid;

It shows my value as empty . Please help
