Depreciation method Factor AX 2012 R3

Dear Experts,

Do you know the calculation of Depreciation method Factor in AX 2012?

As I researched and tested about this method, the only information I only understand that:

  • If Factor value is > 50, the depreciation amount increases over time.
  • If Factor value is < 50, the depreciation amount decreases over time.
  • If Factor value is = 50, the depreciation amount is the same in each period (or straight line depreciation).

Above is the technet link for a scenario and testing results. However, I could not know how the depreciation amount is calculated based on the factor value.

If you have any idea or experience about this method, please kindly advise.
