I am working on AX 2012 R2 in Indian localisation. in the same i am trying to calculate the Depreciation as per Straight line percentage method which is specifically for Indian localization only. For the same the calender is Day base type only in depreciation profile.
All other set up for Fixed Assets are also verified via other depreciation methods.
But for Straight line percentage method system is not calculating the depreciation on depreciation proposal.
Does any one have face the same problem…? Does any one as resolution of the same if any…?
Once again check with the Setups that you have done, the initial setups includes
Depreciation Profile: (in this Method is important as we select for different methods we come across two different SLM one is used when a new asset is acquired, second is for remaining life of asset) so just check with this setup as you may have opted for a wrong one.
Fixed Asset Group: Here we assign a gropu for the desired asset
Value Model: This is the main setup for fixed asset as we to check under setup tab with Posting Layer and Calender this needs to match with the depreciation Profile
Posting Profiles : Here we define ledger accounts for value models that we have created.
Fixed Assets Parameters: check with the accounting rule tab as we need to specify Posting Profile.
These are the setups, after which we acquire an asset and run a depreciation using Depreciation Proposal this is important as we need to specify correct date for running a Dep Proposal (May be this is another area where you need to check with)
As suggested check with the Period Frequency in depreciaton Profile as we have option (Yearly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly) based on the duration specify the date and run the depreciation Proposal You will surely get the desired output.
I case of any issues… feel free to reach me !!! [Y]
Jinesh, I’m not aware of this depreciation method “Straight line percentage method”. But, just ensure for the value model, you have the fields “Depreciation run date”, “Service life”,Acquisition price and Acquisition date fields filled in. (Just a guess)
If everything is fine, you should be able to see the depreciation profile in the form : value models>Inquiry>Profile>.
If you are seeing the profile here and if its not coming while running the Depreciation proposal then there could be some date related problem while running the depreciation proposal.
