Default sales lead time

Hi,

In AX 2012, where to set the default sales lead time?

From released product ->Manage inventory action pane → Default order settings → Sales order tab, I can see there is a default Sales lead time - 3 days. But where is the 3 days from?

I have one question for example one company manufacturing different finished products , which have the different lead times , in that case where we need to define against the each product ?

It depends upon how the business wants to interact with sales and the stocking policies they employ. Products can have different “lead” times but you can have a single sales lead time which is covered by stock replenishment policies. Alternatively if you have none you can define a sales lead time against every item if you wish.
