Hi all,
I have a question need everybody advice.
when we run bank reconciliation, program show the “The length of the string is 22, but it must be than or equal to 20 character”. I found that our “External Document No.” field in General ledger is code 35. so I let consultant to fix it. he told me this is Navision bug and I need pay service fee for him.
Yes, I need pay to consultant, because he spent time, but my question is can I let Microsoft refund to me because this is MS bug and I paid 16% annual fee every year ?
Thanks
You should have report it to Microsoft before taking any action via support request . You can do this from Customer source.
If it is really a bug then Microsoft will surely done this for you Free of Cost as you are on BREP. or if somebody is already reported this then Microsoft might have released the HF for the same
Now I don’t think so they will refund you any kind of money.
You also need to check that whether somebody from development team has done some customization.
Agree with Amol.
And I have never experienced any problems with that field.
Standard in NAV is that DocumentNo-fields allways are defined with at length of 20!
So I assert that your field-lengt of 35 is a customization in your NAV.
This is NOT a NAV bug. The problem is caused by someone increasign the length of the “External Document No.” field. Microsoft owes you nothing. Anyways, that 16% only entitles you to receive updates produced by Microsoft along with access to CustomerSource. It does not cover time involved in researching problems to determine if they would be corrected by such updates.
Your “argument” is with whoever wrote that modification.
Hi Anfinnur,
Thanks, I will check with our consultant to look what’s happen. after he update the table 10121 & 10124 the field No. 7 (Document No.) from code 20 to 35, it’s working.
Thanks
Amel,
seem like it is, we use Nav2013 and I check the G/L Enteries, those records has correct format, but after import Bank Reconciliation line, the “External Document No.” (Code, 35) will import into “Document No.” (Code, 20) too.
Thanks
Have you reported it to Microsoft ???
