DAX 2009 Labels Best Practices

Hi guys,

Would just like to get your opinion.

In the site http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa586081(v=ax.50).aspx, the following guidelines are stated:

(1) Labels should not end with a period, unless they are HelpTexts, or unless they end with three periods, for example: “New…”, “Add…”.

(2) You should NOT use text constants (for example “%1 - %2”) to format labels

Why are the above suggested?

For example, for (1), what are the implications of ending labels with period (technical / non-technical) (ex: for infolog messages)?

For (2), I see some sys labels with that format, but why is the above suggested in the best practice?
