I’m currently running into an issue with customer over payments being seen as unapplied cash on the customers account. Take for example I have an invoice for $500 but receive a check for $550. I then create a customer payment journal link the invoice and alter the amount to $550 instead of the original invoice amount. The issue here is that when I go into collections on the customer form and try to settle open transactions that additional $50 doesn’t have an invoice linked to it. Is this an issue with my configuration? Is there any work around to address this issue and at least let our AR team know that this was linked to an over payment of an invoice and it’s not just unapplied cash?
