Counting Records in List Page after applying different filters

Dear All,

i am trying to count the records in a list page after applying different filters. But i am not being able to count the records. How can i do this and where shall i write the code ? i mean in which trigger and i also need to display this in seperate factbox. which trigger runs while we search using search field in the page? can any one help me with this query??

Hi Manish,

I have used count function on onaftergetrecord trigger but my clients requirement is whenever they keep filters like date and other fields, the records they obtained must be counted like in MS Excel. i have also used setselectionfilter. but it didnt work.
