Hi all,

Kindly anybody explain me about the components of Dynamics AX

AOS

File server

Database

Client

Artata

Hi Artata,

AOS = Application Object Server, it’s the core application that manages processes

File server = File server, don’t hear about that in AX, may be it’s the AOS because it contains application files

DataBase = Application database, where AX store all its datas

Client = local or remote program that open a session on AX, the user must be referenced in Active directory, you must have a functional domain to install and use AX

Both can be on the same machine but best practice recommend to use a dedicated server
