Comparision Period Formula field

Does anyone know why the Comparison Period Formula field does not exist on the v4.0 SP2 GB version of the Column Layout table? The Comparison Date Formula exists but does not have the same functionality as the Comparision Period Formula field.

The GB version has a lot of changes to enable accounting periods which do not equal a normal year. Notice that on the Account Schedule overview in the GB version, you have an extra button next to the 1-7-31-3 - buttons, so that you can switch between showing System Calendar (Jan to Dec), or Acc. Period Calendar, which can be anything you like.

This functionality replaces the “Comparison Period Formula”, which is why this field is not needed,
