COMMIT in the main menu

I want to use the OnTimer-Trigger of the main menu to start some procedures. I must use COMMIT in this Trigger. Can I do it in the main menu or what could happend ? Regards Carsten

In my mind, COMMIT is often misunderstood and overused. COMMIT is only needed when a record must be phyisically written so that another proceedure can use it. Navision has an implied COMMIT that executes once the trigger terminates that called the proceedure. Should that not be sufficient for you, I do believe that COMMIT could be used and that Navision would understand that the timmer is on a different thread than say a posting routine. COMMIT is a swear word in Navision. Think long and hard before you use it and make sure there really is no way of avoiding it. You will thank yourself later. Cheers, John
