hi guys,

if i have a main account-

1.ABC-TRADE (12000) which is comprises of external trade and internal trade

do i create create 2 sub account 12,001(external) and 12,002(internal)

and indent them under 12,000?

besides indenting them how can i tell navision that both 12,001 & 12,002 have the same ‘parents’ account 12,000?

take a look at the CRONUS chart of accounts and read the Financial Management training material. It will explain how to do it better than any of us. It’s a standard functionality of NAV

Hi,

Yes you can create group for that in which 12000 will be parent. Mark it as a header type account.

In NAV, after you create chart of account, you can see the overview of the COA. That will basically show you which ledger comes under which group in a structured manner.

Hi,

You can create as follows

No Name Income/Balance Account Type

12000 Trade Begin-Total

12001 External Trade Posting

12002 Internal Trade Posting

12999 Trade ,Total End-Total

After this go to functions and click on Indent chart of Accounts .This will indent your COA

Dont forget to set Totaling = 12001…12002 in 12999 line…

I would recommend setting totalling to 12000…12999. This is the standard Navision way of doing this.
