Anyone ever created GL Financial Reports that allow for both accruals and cash based accounting?

Navision is written for Accrual based accounting only. I once wrote a HUGE mod for a client that wanted to (get this) stay on accral but, pay Sales Tax based on Cash Basis. To change/report on a cash basis would probably be a HUGE undertaking. Good luck. Bill Benefiel Manager of Information Systems Overhead Door Company billb@ohdindy.com (317) 842-7444 ext 117
Bill is quite right about the difficulty of setting up Navision for “real” cash accounting. But we run our small Navision consulting business on Navision and keep our books day to day on an accrual basis. However we report at period ends on a cash basis for tax purposes. We do so by having strategically placed accounts to offset Open Payables and Open Receivables. We use the recurring entries function to enter period end reversing entries to those accounts which are reversed the first day of the next period. It’s crude, but it’s simple and it works. Our accountant reviewed it, said “that’s interesting” and used the results to file our tax return. Dave Studebaker das@libertyforever.com Liberty Grove Software A Navision Services Partner
